The tea party is a product of the Koch brothers et al. There's very little grass roots left. The Kochs heve financed much of it and for their own selfish interests.
Do you think all those little old ladies and gentlemen are paying their own way all over the country and printing all their own signs, and reserving their own venues? They're being played like a fiddle.
Some of them started out with some valid ideas but those are all subverted now. It's become just another right wing bunch of extremists.
Their candidates are mostly light weights but that's who their conntrollers want. I think they may have gone too light for their own purposes in at least Nevada and Delaware though. Probably Alaska and Kentucky too. There may be others.
But who am I to judge?
