I promised I would not cut & paste on this one, but if memory serves me correctly the black membership in the Tea Party is less than 2%. I don't think that's good..... Doesn't NASCAR has a higher ratio?
However you guys can live in your white bread world and insist the tokens are proof positive of equality, but there's another story, one based in fact. One that teaches us you can paint a pile of poo rose red, but it's still just a pile of poo.

So, we agree on Obama then. See, that wasn't hard.

Thanks Jeff. I'll promise not to give any cut & paste, if you promise not to ask for proof of my opinions.

Opinions are like noses, everyone has one and sometimes they smell.  No proof required.

The Tea Party is a good idea gone awry. I feel many Americans have grown tired of a political system as corrupt as ours. In many ways the Tea Party before being sold out to special interest was about what many of us feel and think. However they limited their message to middle age white America. I know people hate to hear that, but fact are facts. Unless of course you think the one black man singing on the stage is a good representation of the black race.

In short you can't be representative of America until you invite everyone to the party. That's blacks, whites, Hispanics, or any race that calls themselves American. It's the Republicans, the Democrats, and the Independents. We're all in this boat of a nation and we'll sink or sail together.

So is it fair to say your objections are related to your opinion they are not inclusive with other races, and their political leanings are more conservative than liberal?

I’m not trying to be a smartass here but is it more they are not inclusive, or is it the other races choose not to participate in great numbers for some philosophical reason?  In my limited understanding of things I think other races tend to lean more toward liberal philosophies and perhaps that is why there is not a lot of variety within the tea party.

I agree with your observation that most people feel today’s system is corrupt.  I don’t know if I agree that they sold out to special interest.  Maybe sold out to personal interest is more likely.  Everyone is only looking out for themselves and to me a conservative message (Not crackpot conservative) is more practical than a liberal, help everyone out, message.  I am still not convinced that the tea party is an answer to the country’s woes, but I can’t discount their message either.  I guess on this one, just call me “fence rider.”  Thanks for the discussion.  I appreciate it.

You are the one calling the tea party elements racist. I never asserted there was proof positive of equality; but then, you cannot define equality as it relates to this matter, or any matter, for that matter. You posted that you "can't be representative of America until you invite everyone to the party". I simply proved you wrong because there are blacks and hispanics that ARE members, by the links I provided. Now you are crying that the proof the internet offered isn't good enough of a membership percentage. What's walmart's "percentage"? You can't have it both ways.

I think you are the one, davieboy, living in a "white bread" world for obviously making a statement like you made that was so easily proven wrong. As for equality, look at your own company's record before striking out against other organizations....you are no one that should be crying about equality with your own company's dismal record....need I say more? Besides...you'll really be mad when the tea party element's results show up next week....equality notwithstanding!

You know, now that you mention it, I was at Wal-Mart today and didn't see one African American "associate".

And I didn't see one African American customer.
