Went to Wal-Mart.  They were lootin' the place.  Seems someone had gooten some rooten apples.  Traffic jam....tootin' horns.  Tried mootin' the sound, but it didn't work.  Nootin' worked.  It's okay though, 'cause we're bootin' out a bunch of liberals in a few days.

(This nonsensical post dedicated to Mallodave.....language only they can understand.)

My words on an earlier post.

"You and tp are so quick to try to have anyone prove anything and neither of you prove a dam thing except that you are libs and don't have a decent grasp of spelling, punctuation or grammar."

I love it that you keep proving my point. Thanx!

Seriously, TP at the top of the space that you type in the posts there is an "ABC" with a check mark.  That is a spell and grammar check.  It only takes a second...

That is correct opie, however, that 'device' will not correct wrong words. An example that is used incorrectly by many - on this forum and other place also - is your instead of you're.

Your should be used when describing something that belongs to the person to whom you are speaking  - your name - your shoes - your house - your car - your child - your spouse.

You're is a contraction of you and are - you're right - you're wrong - you're a hunk - you're a Republican - you're an idiot - you're a brainiac. I think you get the drift. If you would say you are ___, then you would use the "you're".

Simple huh?

Another wrong usage is to and too. I am going to get some groceries and I hope I don't have to spend too much money. I read these mistakes in the Journal every single day.

Spellcheck will not pick up those things as they are words and spelled correctly - just the wrong words for that instance.

Class dismissed.
