Well....Merry Christmas!  It is now Christmas day in Laos.

One of the warrior heroes we should be thanking is Muscatiner Doug King.  Doug went missing in Laos on Christmas day 1968.  He was a PJ (Parajumper).  He was trying to rescue an F105 pilot who was shot down on Christmas Eve.  Both never came back up through the trees.  I knew him as Doug, although his given first name was Charles (known as Charlie in the AF).  He was/is a true hero.  He now is among those thousands of other heroes that made the ultimate payment for our freedom and allowed us to celebrate Christmas with our families and friends in 2010.  Let's not forget them.

Here's a link if you care to learn more about him:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.

Amen to that. Knew Kathy well; but I never knew Doug. God bless him and his family.
