Muscatine

Joking brings truth

Posted in: Muscatine

Again, the Iowa Legislature is attempting to certify a lie to its voters.   If you want a good example of a Public Private Partnership, take Muscatine.  We have a Development Corporation that gets money from the City, gives a dog and pony show that goes something like "If you cannot dazzle them with brilliance then baffle them with Bull****" How do they present it to the Public?  Inform Muscatine they are concentrating on working with existing manufacturer's and hope to get them to expand, or will recruit the local manufacturers suppliers to open in Muscatine.

If you are so happy with a stock purchase of a company that you decide to purchase stock in all of the companies that are suppliers to that company, and that is your entire portfolio, what happens when the main company gets into a downturn?  You are at risk of loosing your ENTIRE Portfolio.   Do you think for one minute Muscatine Development Corporation would attempt to recruit a company that pays its workers more than what our local employers do?  The Partnership focusing on Job Creation, increasing Incomes, enlarging our gross state product you must ask, what kind of jobs high or low paying.  Increasing Incomes, to the Chairman or President possibly.  To hourly wage earners, not a chance.

Will people like Big Brother, who brings the President onto the discussion, when he has nothing to do with it, or like  our legislators who are masterful at baffling with bull excrement.   Where are the jobs, will Lofgren and Kauffman ever produce any jobs, even though they did in their campaign verbiage, no, but they have been elected, so the we'll get jobs is merely just another lie.

If it looks like a duck . . .

Who do WE know that purports everything and everyone as "liars"?

I reread BB's post and find absolutely no reference to the president, however he did mention legislation for IOWA JOBS - which you conveniently chose to ignore or are LYING about.

BTW - "You are at risk of losing (not loosing) your entire portfolio."

Wow..this is getting weird. Is this really Charlie Sheen posting? I have not mentioned a word about the your president in your conversation here. Secondly, anyone else notice how a thread that railed on our state legislature officials, now has turned to a city discussion, then a stock portfolio discussion, then a president discussion.

You asked questions. I answered them, showing the legislation, that you inferred did not exist, clearly has been introduced. Done deal. Politicians don't and can't make jobs. Can you get this concept through your head? They help by improving the economic benefits for companies that can then, create jobs. Looks like you need a high school civics class all over again, republican.

Go see Nathan Reichert's .ORG website that speaks to creating jobs:

  • Quote: "Creating good jobs and a stronger economy!"

Show us all where he did any of that, repub, in all his time in Des Moines! What was Iowa's unemployment rate again, while he was serving? Was he lying then?
