Revitalizing the Blvd

In an effort to keep the Queens Blvd
medians clean, volunteers with the
Queens Blvd Restoration Group and
The Doe Fund participated in three
cleanups last year that netted nearly
five hundred bags of trash and weeds,
just along QB in Forest Hills alone.
The push to get Sanitation to maintain
the medians continues. In addition,
efforts to get the Parks Dept to plant
trees in the nearly 40 empty tree pits
on the medians hopefully will payoff
this spring. A plan to get residents,
businesses, and building owners to
`Adopt-a-Median?’ is also in the
works.
