Open WIFI Network Connection Issues

Posted in: Village At The Glens

Has anyone been having issues connecting devices over the open WIFI network?

Is there a support number for the WIFI provider to help troubleshoot issues?

I am trying to connect to a new Canon Printer and I was told I need to purchase MaCafee internet security in order for my printer to work, because the network we have is unprotected and this creates issues with IP Address integrity.

Would love to knowif anyojne else has found a work around for this.

I've been told (just last week) that there is something called client isolation on the wifi, which means no device can talk to another.  Which means that a wireless printer (I have one) can't be used.  There's probably a work around but I don't know it yet.

We found a workaround.  You can get a hidden SSID and password within the open internet.  If your printer and your computer are on the same SSID, you can print.  Contact anaptyx to set it up.  The field tech I have a card for is Kenny, he set up one for us.  Phone 843-582-6424
