Naw Max,

He was a little of that too. But what does it matter when those with that "spine" get us our Koreas', Vietnams', Iraqs'.  Even an Iran? What's in a spine?  Guts and Glory, for who? What cost? and besides, you're a smart guy and shouldn't need reminding,  guts and such are just other names for stupidity.

Cannot follow you there Max. I'll hand you stars and points and high fives at most turns, but not this time. "Wake up sir" The rabbit hole isn't far off. and "It's a TWISTER" that's about to take us on a ride that we all just might wish a Real guy like Carter was dealing with. Spineless is what we would be, if we sat back and ignored those warnings again, "a fresh breath of air" like carter, offered with faithful solutions to those old problems come back at us, that man Carter warned us about to his undoing, and we ignored.

What a world we live in huh. "Turn you're key the same time I do sir." Kaboooooooom. Obamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa  did it God.  But we had a chance to listen to a great guy back in 1977."  Just funnin. But all I am hoping, is that in spite of the past mistakes, those we keep repeating, over and over, we have a chance to turn the corner and see the face of a better world. All we need to do is stop looking back with our "spines" and the fingers of blame (I'm guilty too)and give this guy a chance even if he asks for help from some of our recent best of the worst cabinet clubs. Heaven knows we need it more now than ever.  Wa-HOOOOOOO! Carter 2012! Er......I mean a man just like him?

God Bless.

My father was a torpedo bomber pilot in WW2.  He flew many missions, was awarded two Navy Crosses and a Distinguished flier cross, and was instrumental in the sinking of many Japanese ships.  He was at Midway.  I will be sure to not share with him your sentiment that "guts and such are just other names for stupidity".

Hew.....No guts no glory? Stupidity of our "Leaders" Max. How in tarnation any of that went to faithful sodliers performing feats of daring and duty at the behest of Stupid presidents and congresses I don't quite see. But I'll expound since you obviously require.

Point Taken. But context Max, context. You made the point not me. A/his Spine, intestinal fortitude stood as my subtext via our leaders, not "our" dutiful soldiers, unless your father stood where Carter stood, as you put him, obviously, a man doing his duty with honor and dignity, is not the man we were tasking, now was it. Thanks goes to your father, and shame to those who started those "spine-fiilled/gut-filled" wars. What that man and millions of others were forced to do. Remember the point please, Carter was, as you put it, not your father "spineless" Guts in and of those honorable soldiers who were sent/asked to do the duty of the spineless are not to be held in that dichotomy of terms, hence stupidity. Keep those thoughts you obviously didn't follow within the context that you prefer to use them, not mine. You think I would call my nephews gutsy/ stupid, or you? Nope, we were talking about the president sir. You seem to have forgotten that. Or perhaps you'd like to clarify your comment regarding Carter's spine? But I get the feeling you were actually meaning war? Or were you?

I still choose Carter over the small group asked about. You can go ahead and allow your father to read it if you want. I'll stand with Carter anyway. Your father's nor millions of hero's guts were not an issue, nor any point. Tell him that too.

God Bless.

i am aware of your math and history...as i am aware of your lack of insight.

my date 1932-1940 had to do with the time, before ww2, that FDR was dealing with the depression (caused by the several repub administrations in the 1920's to 1932).

then ww2, and the 3 years after the war to 1948 (that itreat was attributing to FDR's influence...to make 16 years) made the political/economic response to the depression a whole new thing.

try making up your own argument instead of imitating mine.

Now I'm sleepy as an old hound.

Perhaps I'm lost out here in some cyber twilight zone? If you are referring to the republicans messing with our economy, I'm on board. If you are referring to FRD's prowess as a president? NO. He's still a loser in the grand scheme of it all. If you actually have an argument, i don't see it outside ONE weensy little 4 term/16 year issue, where I did not state that he served them all. ??????

See that's why I get so long winded with these things at times. When I don't it looks as though I left something out or missed a point that deserves credit by others such as yourself. I reread it and still failed to see how you drew any argument from what I originally wrote. You can have your argument, mine is unchanged. Is carter deserving of these accolades? I think so. FDR is not, in spite of the Republican blunders ahead of Hoover and FDR's four terms. FDR taxed the snot out of the country and laid the groundwork for what many consider the demise of our economy. That is unless you are a working poor person who just cannot ite the loose financial ends or a widowed mother of four or more with little hope. Well then, FDR was a savior.

God Bless.
