I use to do that, smoke I mean. My Mr. toked those big ole nasty stogies for a long time then went to Red Man chew. I tell ya, I wished at times, that he'd gone back to the smoking. But time gave way to "the right thing" as health started to suffer and then the kids sounded off. THAT WAS THAT. Pictures of cancerous lungs were all over the TV while some relatives passed on-of the big C word. Not to mention the expense and example issues. But I must agree with most of you folks assessments. I couldn't believe that the state banned smoking in bars but not casinos. Isn't air quality as important once you drop a quarter in a slot? Isn't bar smoke no less harmful than casino smoke? What were those fools thinking when they even considered that retarded law. I personnally don't go to bars or casinos, but if I did, I'd stay out of the casino because of the smoke anyway. Silly! We took three children through to adulthood and none smoke, though we don't now either, I still have ashtrays for the few who do but they are so gracious when they sit in the season room with a vent fan to smoke. I feel badly that our Friends and some relatives do that, but there isn't any chance NOW especially, that I will be able to accept it any other way here at home. Since I became ill, when we attend a gathering at friends or family, those that do smoke are just as understanding as I'm sure most of you are. Plus I know fully well how tough it is to quit. I did it, but oh what a rough ride it was. Smokeless for over forty years now, I am happy to know that it is possible, should anyone really wish to quit. But, we respect folk's desire to continue or not. (And to those who get that, I still must ask that passing gas be reserved for the outdoors or within a special containment system, because I would rather float away from gas containment than) "let go"(just me)LOL!
But seriously, it makes no sense to me that any state would pass a law banning smoking in public places besides a casino and walk around proudly- knowing that it is about the most hypocritical act they can perform. Obviously, the casino wheels had a hand in legislation and any representative who voted in favor of that mixed up hog-sloped bill, needs to be voted out next election. Ban it in public everywhere or nowhere.
