Every time the state or feds need money, they raise cigarette taxes. Smoking is a major contributing factor to heart disease (which is the number one killer in the U.S.), but according to the CDC it is below obesity on the list of contributing factors.
I propose that for once, instead of taxing cigarettes, they consider taxing Big Macs, doughnuts, beer, potato chips, etc. Let fat people carry some of the tax burden for a change.
I agree with you but now I suppose we are picking on someone now. I believe that after they get the smoking stopped then they will go after the obese people.
