Lee's delegation is sympathetic to Cuba, with most of its members openly praising the country's communist government while decrying U.S. policy.

JOS that was taken from the article i posted on here, the praise was for the communist government...go to page 2 or 3 and look for a posting titled "something interesting" by me...

Thank you for pointing this out as I had not read that previously.

That is a very troubling statement, indeed. I wish that I was able to find some sort of sources to corroborate it, though. I've only been able to find this AP article that makes such a claim. I will say that there's nothing in the CBC's literature stating their support for Cuba's communist government. And aside from partisan websites, I've not been able to find anything current except for rumors about the allegiances of the three-member CBC delegation. Maybe someone else will have more luck. I wish the writer would have provided a source for such a bold claim.

As far as patriotism goes, you are getting your kicks out of any stumble the U.S. makes or ever made.  Most people recognize that type of behavior in your type.

Right, hiroad. Cause you never try to get your "kicks" out of someone's perceived stumbles do you? (Ahem... cough... cough...) You just keep telling yourself that.

And trying to "keep us honest" presumes you have some kind of corner on honesty.

I've never presumed any such thing, hiroad. However, I'm sure you would agree that there are some around here who seem to be a little confused as to what the truth is. (And I'm talking about both sides of the political spectrum.) Just because someone on television, on the radio, or in the newspaper said it doesn't mean it's the truth. We've become an intellectually lazy country and many of us have decided that anything that validates our opinions must be the truth. Not so, as I'm sure you know. How's that saying go? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own facts? Or something like that.

There are people on both sides of the aisle that are great at taking unrelated facts and presenting them in such a way that they appear to be related. Michael Moore comes to mind as does Rush Limbaugh. However, both men are entertainers and are not stupid. They understand that if they validate the opinions held by the majority of their audiences that they will make more money. Unfortunately, people take this entertainment and presume it to be truth. Remember the liberals ranting about Fahrenheit 9/11?

I'm just trying to make sure that people are on the up and up around here and aren't confused by the entertainers pretending to be journalists.

Your behavior is what my Mother used to call "snobish".

Really? Cause my behavior is what my mother used to call "honest." The truth is sometimes awkward and uncomfortable, no? That doesn't mean that we should ignore when people are being less than truthful. I'm sure you can agree with that, hiroad.

I've never encountered a liberal, yet, who was anywhere close to honest.   They've all done what ever it took to serve their ideology, including lie.  They do this because they believe they are more intelligent than all the "common folk" and sometimes they "need" to lie to "help us" see the light.

Well, first of all, if you're referring to politicians, they all lie. Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals. For every liberal lie you cite, I'm sure I can point out a conservative lie just as egregious. It's our responsibility to sort them out and vote for the candidate whose lies offend us the least. It's sad, but it's the state of our political arena and has been for many, many moons.

Second of all, feel free to point out any lies you feel I, as a liberal, have told. I won't be offended.

BTW - Sorry I didn't respond sooner. It's been a busy couple of days.

So now you are a liberal? Was it you who denied being a liberal in other posts? I could be wrong on that. It's hard to keep track when so many libs get offended when they are called liberal.
