Unlike you guys, I'm not here to cheerlead for my side. I'm just around to keep you guys honest. It's like a full time job most days.

Maybe you should just look for an honest Obama appointee.

Hey ned is there such a thing as an honest Nobama appointee?

JOS however forgot to mention in his Reagan/conservative bashing, that conservatives love thier country, they dont go abroad and tell other countries that we're arrogant. They dont send delagates to communist countries, and praise communism.

I can understand why you would want me to remind people that conservatives love their country after their ridiculous tea parties and all, but honestly, it's not like they've got the market cornered on patriotism. Unless, of course, you're referring to the conservative version of patriotism which can be distilled down to "my country, right or wrong." Which is kind of like the faithful, loving spouse of an abusive husband, no? You see, I prefer to love my country like a parent loves his kids, by calling it out for its shortcomings and insisting that it be the best and most worthy of respect that it can be, which I'm sure is the way you raised your own kids. We've all seen the kids whose parents worshipped them and thought that they could do no wrong and it's not a pretty sight. Those kids are pretty arrogant, aren't they?

And I don't believe any of Obama's "delegates" praised communism. However, members of the Congressional Black Caucus did travel to Cuba and (according to the conservative magazine Politico) they did "[heap] praise on Castro, calling him warm and receptive during their discussion." That's praising an individual for his hospitality, which is a far cry from praising an ideology.

Ah yes, calling Castro "warm and receptive"!!   I'm sure there are others in prison in Cuba that might disagree with the black caucus (but these "caucii" probably cut some kind of deal with the dictator while they were there that made it worthwhile for them like they've done with others in the past).

Wasn't there someone, somwhere, that once said people like you and the black caucus were really just "useful fools" for the communist elite?

And wasn't there someone called James Madison who chose to serve his country as President even though he strongly believed in limited central/Federal government?   Yes, there was, and plenty of others too who honestly tried.

As far as patriotism goes, you are getting your kicks out of any stumble the U.S. makes or ever made.  Most people recognize that type of behavior in your type.   It is not the same patriotic behavior exhibited by my Father and Uncles back in the 40's.  Your behavior is what my Mother used to call "snobish".    And trying to "keep us honest" presumes you have some kind of corner on honesty.   I've never encountered a liberal, yet, who was anywhere close to honest.   They've all done what ever it took to serve their ideology, including lie.  They do this because they believe they are more intelligent than all the "common folk" and sometimes they "need" to lie to "help us" see the light.
