I agree with your point, but the fact remains that is how it has been and probably will be.

There was more when WW 2 ended but that was because there were lots of troops coming home.

When I was a child we went to the cemetery to put flags on the veterans graves and it was a big deal but that was about the time the war ended.

Very few people go to the ceremonies anymore, it has become just another holiday, very sad to say the least.

Also you were right I had to find my jacket this morning as the west wind had a bite to it.
