**Please excuse this interruption.**
Why do Conservatives hate America so much?
Lately it seems that when America loses something, such as the Olympics, conservatives cheer and taunt. And when an American wins something, like the Nobel Peace Prize, they gripe and complain. And all of this comes from the same people who touted their own patriotism while questioning the patriotism of a certain presidential candidate for not wearing a flag pin on his lapel and doubting the allegiance of those who dared to question the wisdom of our country's foreign policy decisions. Could it be that the party of "America first" has really always been just the party of "Ideology first?" Could it be that the symbol of the elephant is really more sacred to a conservative than the stars and stripes? (Don't laugh, it's happened before.)
The world may never know the answers to these questions. They may forever remain among those unsolved mysteries like the existence of the Loch Ness Monster, the secrets of the Bermuda Triangle, and the number of licks it takes to reach the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop.
**I now return you to your regularly scheduled Conservative-sponsored America hate-fest and insult contest.**
Perhaps it is because the olympics is not what they used to be, now it is more of a contest of who can get away with cheating the most (ie. steroids and other performance enhancing drugs), and also the fact that the Noble Peace prize is no longer that prestigious of a thing to get. I believe it lost all credibility when it was awarded to Yasser Arafat. I personally did not jump for joy that they lost their Olympic bid, nor get irate that Obama was given a Nobel Peace Prize. I simply don't care as neither of them have any meaning to me as they have both turned into pathetic excuse of what they once represented.
