nobama is hated more than even Bush was.........
Because threats against him are up you think he's hated more than Bush? Maybe it's just that those who do hate him are more likely to be threatening violence than those who disliked Bush.
the best in my book would have to be "yes i voted for the war....before i voted against it"
Certainly one of the more entertaining political statements ever made.
why dont u condemn obama for the casulties in Afghanistan...the same way u condemned Bush for the casulties in Iraq?
Any deaths that happen in Afghanistan at this point will most certainly be on Obama's hands. He has chosen to engage there and he therefore bears responsibility for the lives lost. However, you seem to forget that the vast majority of America (left and right) supported the Bush administration's decision to take military action in Afghanistan. It was only a few nutjobs and loonies that opposed that decision. I, like most, believe that our actions there, while unfortunate, were justified. The condemnation of deaths in Iraq came from the position that our soldiers weren't allowed to finish the job in Afghanistan before going off to fight in a war that many of us believed to be unnecessary.
but waffled on the reinforcements.....the last i read was that he was still trying to decide what to do.......
Just for the record, I'm sure you'll recall that many in congress had been calling for a troop surge in Iraq for quite some time before the White House finally agreed.
Something else to ponder, while i believe sadam should have been taken out in Desert Storm.....wasnt there something with the coalition that kept us from taking out sadam then?
I'm sure if hiroad or big bro read this they may be able to shed some light on this.....
Not sure about the coalition having anything to do with it. I do know what Bush 41 had to say about it, though:
"Had we gone into Baghdad -- we could have done it, you guys could have done it, you could have been there in 48 hours -- and then what?
"Which sergeant, which private, whose life would be at stake in perhaps a fruitless hunt in an urban guerilla war to find the most-secure dictator in the world?
"Whose life would be on my hands as the commander-in-chief because I, unilaterally, went beyond the international law, went beyond the stated mission, and said we're going to show our macho?" he asked. "We're going into Baghdad. We're going to be an occupying power -- America in an Arab land -- with no allies at our side. It would have been disastrous."
Just another dumb observation...but does anyone find it funny that michael moore chose to create a movie or capitalize on bashing capitalism....that would be another one of those golden comedy moments that haysus talked about.......JMHO
I don't know about funny, but it's certainly ironic. In the end, Michael Moore, like Rush Limbaugh, is an entertainer who caters to a certain demographic. He knows his audience and he throws them red meat in order to earn a living. I, personally, find him interesting as a film maker because he somehow manages to make the viewer believe that two often unrelated instances are somehow completely intertwined. He never explicitly says that their related, but he presents them in such a way that the viewer comes away with that conclusion. As a moviemaker, it is certainly a talent. But as far as Michael Moore being an astute analyst of American sentiment... well, he's out to make money just like the rest of us and he knows that he, like Ann Coulter, makes more money when he's managed to get the other side of the political aisle good and PO'd.
