Yes, Harshbarger. Yes, independent. Ironically, from the bio you linked to:

"...Harshbarger is disliked by many Democrats for the fair and honest way in which he executed of the office of Attorney General. Ray Flynn, former mayor of Boston and another Democratgubernatorial candidate, is said to be furious at Harshbarger for his investigation of the Flynn machine, a probe which ended in the conviction of several members of Flynn's inner circle. But who among the objective citizenry would say Harshbarger was wrong to prosecute fellow Democrats if they were breaking the law? Indeed, the Attorney General is a man of valor and honor who executes his duties with a sense of justice and decency, not patronage or pay-back."

But whatever...

And I like your use of the word "white-wash." Why does that term sound familiar in connection to this report. Hmmmmmmm.... Oh yeah! Just like a good Republican. Repeating their talking points.

So did you read the pdf, hiroad? Of course not, what am I saying? You didn't even check the links in the story you posted to see whether or not they went anywhere. It's too bad, because the report was pretty critical of ACORN. Oh well, I guess that must all be a "white-wash" too. After all, it was written by "Harshberger"... ooops... I mean HarshbArger.

Look, hiroad, obviously we disagree. We're currently 111 replies into this discussion and we're no closer to agreement than we were in the beginning. Even if we were to go to 200 replies (which I believe would be a gold watch for nigel) we're still not going to agree. At this point I really see no reason to continue beating this poor horse any longer unless something new develops.

Why, JOS, do you assume I didn't read the links?  Just because I present the evidence in a "fair and balanced" manner?   Of course, I assume that's something that would never enter your brain.

I'm not parsing and cherry picking the evidence.  The preponderance is on my side and I  (unlike Democrats) trust the public to decide for themselves.

Not in the short run, but if given enough time, our history shows we usually choose the right course.

HiSmile

Didn't the "plublic" choose Gore in 2000? Yup they did, and didn't that drive by the right to capture the election change the course of history?  Didn't those on the right remain in power those next eight years, that pile drove us into this mess? Yup they did. Didn't Obama...I mean the democrats, inherit the worst economy in over 70years? Yup they did. Didn't President Bush hand 852Billion to the bankers and Brokers with no oversight, paid out immediately weeks before he left office. Yup he did. Didn't the five free trade deals President Bush sign into law directly cause the dumping of more than ten million jobs and still counting? Yup they did. Doesn't it take miles(years) of realestate to stop a speeding train? Yup it does. Especialy one with no driver or one asleep at the controls? Yup it does.

I detest what this administration is doing regarding healthcare, it's an idiotic distraction. They should scrap this mess and redirect all attentions to killing those rediculous free trade deals, reestablish Glass Steigle, and start to put Americans back to work. If we cannot recall the last eight years then how do we feel we can qualify any relevence in pointing out how poorly these in office now... are doing. The saddest part of forgetting the past is that we are doomed to repeat it. I did not vote for Obama, but by God I'll not let those off the hook who have done SO much worse, especially a man in office barely a year. I'll cut them the slack I would any president, but this congress better start seeing the forest as well as the trees. But I would seriously regret handing back the reins in such a short time to those who caused all this in the first place.
