He did not personally blame Clinton for any recession during his active administration. He was smarter than that.
Bulls*&#t. Don't like the original link? Try this one. From June 27, 2003: "Two and a half years ago, we inherited an economy in recession." He also said it here and here. All of them within about ten days of each other. Who do you think he's claiming to have "inherited" it from, hiroad? He also does a pretty good job of trying to place the blame on Clinton here the following year. So don't tell me he didn't "personally blame Clinton for any recession during his active administration." His own words betray you.
The North Korea thing was not a personal statement by Bush, and accurately described the situation at the time (ie: the failure of N. Korea to live up to an agreement - not stressing any ineptitude on Clinton's part.....ie: let's learn from our mistakes). In other words arguing against those who wanted to rely on N. Korea's word again.
You want a personal statement from Bush? Fine. When asked about North Korea on October 11, 2006, Bush said: "North Korea has been trying to acquire bombs and weapons for a long period of time, long before I came into office." While this is an accurate statement, it implies that this problem originated with someone else. And when talking about the previous administration's policies, Bush claimed "it didn't work in the past, is my point. The strategy did not work."
The statement by Rice about the fact that the Clinton admin. did not leave Bush a comprehensive strategy for dealing with Islamic terrorists was in direct response to an accusation by Clinton. Clinton brought this up, in effect blaming the Bush admin. for not following his non-existant strategy.
You want Bush's personal opinion? How about this from August 30, 2005? When talking about terrorism, he said "[Terrorists] looked at our response after the hostage crisis in Iran, the bombings of the Marine barracks in Lebanon, the first World Trade Center attack, the killing of American soldiers in Somalia, the destruction of two U.S. embassies in Africa, and the attack on the USS Cole. They concluded that free societies lack the courage and character to defend themselves against a determined enemy.... we've taught the terrorists a very different lesson. America will not run in defeat, and we will not forget our responsibilities." Sounds to me as if he's blaming pretty much everyone from Carter to Clinton. In a previous post I said "...to pretend as though blaming the previous administration is an exclusively Democratic or an exclusively Obama trait is either willfully dishonest or simply uninformed." In your case hiroad, I'm starting to think that I can forget about the either/or part of this statement and cut it down to just one choice. |

It took you a long time to scrounge for some obscure bits to post here. But, Obumbler's "blame game" examples are readily available as they occur almost daily. There's no comparison between Bush and Obama on the "blame" thing and everyone, including you knows it. It's just that leftists like you see equivelancy in everything. Using the exceptions to counter what you can't bear to admit. |

It took me ten minutes, hiroad. Unlike others I can't always check in throughout the day. I've got more important things to do. Sorry you had to wait around.

Nah, it's just that rightwingers like you have selective memories. |
