Muscatine

Watching the news last night, it occured to me that whatever we're doing to discourage drunk driving isn't working.  Three more dead on River Drive in Davenport, a road I suspect that most of us here have driven from time to time.  Our local judge arrested for multiple offenses, two dead on the Davenport bridge last year, and it goes on....

I think that in 1964 or thereabouts, Iowa executed someone for the last time.  Maybe it's time we start putting anybody who kills somebody because they drive drunk on the end of a 13 foot rope.  Drunk driving is premeditated murder, and should be punished as such.  The fear factor doesn't exist right now, and it has to exist before the drunks start to think twice about driving.

Many years ago, my neighbors brother got on the interstate going the wrong way and killed a foreign med student...at the time it happened he had already had 2 OWIs under his belt. He ended up being in a coma for the next 6 yrs until he died..Your right its a huge problem. 1st OWI should automatically be 1 yr in jail.Death resulting from an OWI should be life in prison with no possibility of parole, since the bleeding heart liberals did away with the death penalty.

Its kind of like brett noble gettin a cushy ride through life for killing that woman...he should die!

well in defence of the libs ( I rarely will do this) Illinois released half of their death row inmates do to DNA results. This means not one or two innocents were wrongfully convicted of a capital murder, 13 were freed. I would love to be the guy pulling the switch on all these child molesters, but with a less than 50% success rate by the police and states attorney, I would always fear of an innocent being charged. guarantee a 100% success and I'm on board.

Is there any question in this latest Davenport case who did the killing?
