Hi Mal
Exactly. That's why I threw out my Wheel O' parable some posts ago. Back and forth it goes, ever faster until ZOOOOM! it flies off the rails and breaks your mom's favorite::::::::well the bottom line anyway. All anyone in doubt need do, is ask the elder Bush. He understood it albeit too late to do him any good. He detested Reagan's phony trickle down theory, calling it "VooDoo Economics." It was so frustrating for him to ante up, fight for the increases. Much to his chagrin, he couldn't convince his own party members to understand or at least consider the ramifications of a weak tax base. They act like it's some perdiem,to get fantastic tax breaks while they pocket the profits and cut our economy out of the loops their political pals set for them. "Better business capability" my trickled to death:::well you know. As they developed the strategy to cut taxes, they began to develop legislation to cut jobs via the "Free Trade" scam. Again the enabling issues were taxes. The end of that parade was 2006 when reconciliation was outlawed/banned/ etc. and the small majority of dems put a stop to Bush' sixth free trade deals but not the no holds barred banking and trade legislation. Too late though since the jobs exodus had gone into full swing. No tax base, no jobs, no ethics, no health care, no end in sight. I did not like Obama, but always knew he nor whom ever took over last year didn't stand a chance. But after a full year the new guys have done virtually nothing to stop even more of the same foibles and devastating pranks. I think dad was right all along. The whole Palin McCain move was a throw in the towel maneuver to regroup for 2012. It's easy to step back and throw stones when someone else lives in the glass house that you actually built in the first place.
Off to bed, up early with lots to do tomorrow.
Lucy
