I'd have to agree to that also. Though my Great uncle fought in Germany and a Nazi by commission, he was a great soldier for his compassionate countrymen and thousands of Jewish prisoners. He detested what Hitler was doing and tried to convince Himmler that they should negotiate peace. Like Schindler, he did his best to upset the balance of Nazi strength there, and assisted in the clandestine evacuation of thousands of Jews to Switzerland. Though not an American he did a fine service to the allies and Jews from within Hitler's infrastructure. His Name was Walter Schellenberg, spared by the war crimes counsels for his humanitarian acts and serious risks to himself and family. He passed away an American at heart. I'm proud to be a relative of such fine military integrity.
