Do you mean the law preventing felons from voting?  I'm sure the democrats hate that law, but the republicans are glad it's there.  I wonder why?  Who coined the term, "the dark side"?   What other "blocking" do you mean?  Maybe people that are not citizens of the U.S.?  Yep, I bet you guys hate that one too.

 

I might be living in the past and thinking more of other states.   Now that the Democrats have made election day registration the law in Iowa, it's much more difficult to block a voter from voting.   They've also made it easier for a convicted felon to get his/her voting rights back.   You used to have to jump through a few more hoops to register in Iowa.

 

Florida was and I presume is a different situation.   There, Jeb threw maybe 60,000 or so voters off the roles because their names looked like the names of felons.   And he did it so it was too  late to clear it all up before the election.   There are other states where things like that happen.   You can't do that in Iowa anymore.

 

I don't know anything about the origin of 'the dark side'.   It's used by different people to mean different things.   What is the usage you are thinking of here?
