I pointed out I was being respectful and provided the proof. It's called discussion, in case you're confused.

Getting back to the discussion that our economy is improving, I have to respectfully disagree as evidenced by Muscatine losing another business.  It looks like Muscatine Books and More are closing its doors.  You asked the question earlier in this discussion about my store, "How is that Obama's fault?"  And I submit to you it isn't.  But in order to have a healthy economy people have to be free to spend their money, and not just on bills.  They have to feel good enough about what is going on to trust that things won't go bad.  I submit this is where Mr. Obama has failed and hurt the economy.  People right now don't know if they will be able to pay their bills or even have a job tomorrow.  So instead of trusting, people are being cautious.  I submit that our President has been part of the problem.  The healthcare bill that was rammed down our throats has scared the bejebbers out of everyone.  Since he became president 51% of the private sector is now owned by the goverment.  Before he came into office that number was 0.  He has increased our national debt by trillions of dollars and this is scaring people.  Whether or not he thinks the voters are just sheep to be led, we understand what all that means.  So the economy will not and cannot get better till we turn this mistrust around.  Only then will the economy get better, and I am sorry I don't see that happening anytime soon. I submit even with someone with a glass half full, has to recognize these truths.  Thanks for the discussion.

Good post, Jeff. Over 10 percent unemployment on nobama's watch and the Lib congress watch. nobama is in his second full year and the Lib controlled Congress is in its fourth full year, having done little to help. That means business is down. That means mortgage foreclosures. Have you seen how many homes are for sale around our area....and then...have you seen that they stay listed and are getting the price reduced on many? How many of these homes for sale locally are foreclosures? You won't know unless you make an offer and get told that, usually; or if the place goes to bid and advertised auction.

Trickle down has always been a reality. To think nobama and Congress do not have any part of responsibility for these things is what is not reality.

A very good, respectful, and well thought out reply. I thank you for that.

It may come as some shock, but I actually agree with some of the things you had to say. Some of course I do not. I agree Obama has failed restore a trust in the economy. I do challenge that the government owns 51% of the private sector. I may need some help to swallow that pill.

I think we should leave health care out of the discussion because I don't think we'll ever agree. Even with someone with a glass half empty, has to recognize that truth.

Thanks again....

Since he became president 51% of the private sector is now owned by the goverment.  Before he came into office that number was 0.  He has increased our national debt by trillions of dollars and this is scaring people.

You should go back and check these numbers.   They're far from reality.   The government may own 50% of a few industries but no where near 50% of the private sector.   And I think the case can be made that it was more than 0% when he took office.

It will take a few more years to increase the national debt by trillions of dollars.   Maybe in his second term?
