Hi ALL
I have learned many things while here in this community. Honestly the biggest little city I have lived in. Always been a rural gal and love the outdoors as any rough-neck backwater kid ever has. I found the good people among Muscatine friendly and generous. That Iowa::: home to me these past 18 years, a diverse and plentiful land filled with kind and heart-warming souls. Growing up in Minnesota was fantastic too and will always remain home to my heart and soul. But thanks to so many here, a good piece of my heart will always remain affected by this city and most of you. By that, I don't get out much and do the things many people take for granted::: so much of my joy rested right here among these pages and all of you. This is the last two days I will be able to yak atcha or speak my mind at least here, and for a while::: So forgive my long windy post?
I spoke of faith and Christ many times and for some::: that can be uncomfortable, but I hope not. Our world is falling apart around us. The terrible minds of those who would harm us with the slightest chance. The more frequent destructive weather, Earth Quakes, fires, volcanoes, Oil disasters, wars, failing economies around the globe and the breakdown of the family are all taking it's toll on all of us. But you know, all that seemed to run and hide here for a time. I think if people focus on the positive:::a lesson a couple here have fostered in spit of the negatives within:::It just might help us feel a bit better.
Faith in the power of prayer and the hope it can bring is amazing. I suffer many ailments and a couple of you here know that personally, but I take advice well and in spite of all my own problems worries and such that we all in some ways share, the advice has been to look for the good in one another, pray like there IS no tomorrow, and treat each day the same, as if it's our last. Respect each other and share a kind word no matter how much we do not think alike. My grandmother was often known to quote many great minds from our history and had many of her own. I liked the one she use to use on us as kids, the Thumper rule: "If ya can't say sumthin nice::: don't say nuthin at all" Gramm:"You can get a long way with sweet honey as food for thought, but a short bitter end with vinegar." I used vinegar a time or two myself and regret that. Everyone from A to Z here are special people:::and even if the hunt for the silver lining can be tough at times, I for one know they are here. When I get back on-line, I hope you are all still here and brimmed with kindness for one another.
So I wish each and very one good things and that the community will be respectful of one another. That the power of Christ compell us all to be faithful, kind, and generous as we plow through all the adversity to find hope. In my gramm's words:::God Bless.
