This was posted today as a comment to one of the YahooNews stories. This person lived under socialism. I imagine he recognizes it when he sees it.:

I was born in the Socialist Republic of Romania, and I came here as a political refugee, fleeing the enslavement and persecution of a tyrannical socialist regime. That's why it's so heart-breaking to see capitalism in the U.S. being systematically and deliberately torn apart, brick by brick. In the 25 years that I've lived here, I've seen disastrous "change" taking place all around. In fact, it's no longer accurate to even call ourselves a capitalist nation - we are more socialist than capitalist. It's so sad to see that men and women with similar ideologies as those that terrorized all of Eastern Europe and Asia are now ruling America. It's only a matter of time before the "change" completely engulfs our freedom.
Although it is true that not all liberals are socialists, nobody can deny the fact that all socialists are liberals. And although it is true that not all socialists are Marxists, nobody can deny the fact that all Marxists are socialists and liberals. In fact, Marxists/communists are the most dedicated of all to the socialist cause. In a socialist society, the media is like a cheerleader cheering for the socialist team. It's one of the key weapons in the hands of the State, and nothing more than another branch of the government.
The "news media" in the United States has morphed into a well-oiled propaganda machine used to keep the people ignorant, passive, and too disoriented to resist. The effect of having the facts so twisted for so long by the propagandists, is that most Americans are almost completely indifferent to the critical issues of our time or too psychologically exhausted to speak out about it - classic brain washing. For those of you that don't already know, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were both socialist societies. You don't have to dig deep to realize who controls our so-called mainstream media, just follow the trail of lies. What ideological entity stands to benefit the most by the warping of the facts, the calculated and deliberate misinformation, and the out-right lies that our "news media" shoves down our throats on a daily basis? More often than not the trail leads to the Democrat Party, whose ultimate goal is socialism. And we deceive ourselves if we think that it will stop at the currently weak form of socialism.
