How come the 'crats can pass the health care bill with no Republican support but the Republicans are blocking finance reform? Something does not add up. With a clear majority the 'crats should have no problem passing whatever they want; yes/no?

It's because the Senate rules currently allow for a perpetual filibuster by a minorty of 41 senators and the 'icans are using it to block everything they can regardless of merit. But you knew that.
A good change would be to limit a filibuster to a fixed number of days. like maybe 30. We might see some movement then.
