Commandment # 6 specifically states, "Thou shalt not MURDER". Murder and killing are two different things. Bleeding heart types like to get all weepy over the execution of some criminal types should check this out. I believe God meant for us to deal with violent criminals with a death penalty. Those who don't want to be accused of "judging" are copping out. We are allowed to act as judge in criminal matters on earth. God will do the final judging. How dare anyone think that being asked to judge a criminal innocent or guilty is somehow acting as God.

I have been on several juries in my life, never one that had to decide the death penalty. One person could not make up their mind and we spent 2 days deliberating and that person finally agreed with the rest of us. However that person would not cast their ballot for 2 hours because we had just recessed for lunch and they thought that people would think we held out to get a free lunch. Would you want that person deciding your fate on a murder charge ? The last time I was called for jury duty on a Monday morning about 40 people waited for 45 minutes for the Judge to explain that the prosecuting attorney had decided on that morning to drop charges when there were no changes and he could have done it on Friday. Had he done it on Friday we would not have been there.
We have a justice system and it has to be followed or we are no different than the accused, however I am not saying it is perfect in any way. |

I believe in the death penalty and believe those criminals you cited warrant it. Also, I have been called for jury duty twice, but with a law enforcement background from an earlier career, I am almost assured of always not being picked to actually serve, especially in criminal cases. |
