The amendment doesn't increase taxes.   I just says that if some future legislature does increase the sales tax, three eights of one per cent of the increase must go to conseravation.

It's up to you to decide if some future increase should happen.

Are you actually as naive as you appear?

I do have to thank you though, you still give me things to laugh about.

You can talk about who's naive and who's dense all you want but there is nothing in that amendment that raises taxes.

A guy who goes by 'logic" should be able to follow that.

I am sorry I did ask if you are niave, I should have asked if you are ignorant.  Government does require anyone's permission except their own to raise sales taxes.  Even your own party yells that in their anti-Braindead ads.  Yes I said Braindead because that's what I used to refer to Branstad as when he was in office.  This amendment is defunct without those taxes being raised and only a fool (at best) believes that if it were to pass that sales taxes would not be raised.  Now answer straight forward yes or no, if this were to pass do you believe that the sales would be raised?

I'll skip the name calling.

Did you leave out "not"?   Or what are you trying to say?

If it is "governent can raise taxes on their own" your wrong.   Voters raise taxes.

No, in the short term.

Maybe, in the intermediate term.

Yes, in the long term.

But the amendment isn't what does it.   The state legislature will have to do it.

Sorry Mal it isn't name calling it is making a statement when you say someone is ignorant to facts.

Then you go on to contradict yourself.

"If it is "governent can raise taxes on their own" your wrong.   Voters raise taxes."

 Followed by,

"Now answer straight forward yes or no, if this were to pass do you believe that the sales would be raised?

No, in the short term.

Yes, in the long term.

So which is it, voters or state legislature that raises taxes?  Last I knew the state legislatures were a part of the government.  I would be willing to bet that if it were to pass we would see the state sales tax increase within one year to cover this otherwise it is meaningless.

"Do you want to highlight the part where he says that?" Surely you jest?

Please refer to my earlier post when I stated that msmal is dense.

I rest my case.

This is one more case where you put out a lot of gobbledy gook and when challenged, you realize you can't possibly back it up and make it make sense so you pretend it is perfectly clear and blame the questioner for being dense, ignorant, naive or whatever.
I should give this behavior a name so I don't have to write this out every time.  Let's call it evasion syndrome.

I have tried to take you step by step thru this and you call it gobbledy gook. All of us on this thread have tried to make this perfectly clear and you still don't get it - so if you want to call it any name you wish feel free.

As Logic stated - you are good for a few laughs. We'll just leave it at that and forget trying to make you understand as we have come to realize that ain't gonna happen.
