I don't see how anyone will be harmed by allowing same sex marriage but I do know there is a group of people who are harmed by not allowing it. So tell me, who do you think is harmed by allowing it and in what way. And also tell me what interest the state has in harming people by opposing it.
This is addressed especially to all my conservative friends but I'm interested the liberal views too.
I already know by your post that you don't agree with this point of view, so let me ask you a question. If marriage is accepted between same sex couples because it is their civil right, because after all they were "born this way" Where do you draw the line? Do you draw it at the point of polygamy? Incestual relationships? How about pedophiles? I'm betting the later would say they were born like that and did not choose it.

At one time it was against the law to serve black people in white establishment. how does letting someone have a freedom you enjoy damage the family.
Concerning your point about black folks. There are two kinds of laws, man made laws and natural laws. Laws against nature. Yes man created some dumb laws concerning blacks and those did get corrected. But those laws violated their civil rights. The issue with gay people violates natural laws. Man was never meant to sleep or have sex with another man. That is a violation of natural laws. They are two different points. A natural law is inviolable. Just because man does it does not make it right. Wrong is wrong.
freedom means you tolerate someone else's freedom even if you don't agree with it. Ridiculous
So you are saying I have to be tolerant of the way Muslims treat their women and stone them to death for minor offenses. No I don’t! Freedom is letting each other live their lives in the pursuit of happiness as long as it is legal (Man made law and natural law) and does not impose itself on others. My having to let gay people marry and get same rights as heteros legitimizes their unnatural lifestyle. It makes it okay for them to do their perverse things. So what is next? Do we let pedophiles have their rights too? As previously stated there has to be a line drawn somewhere. I chose to draw it with the gay people. Their lifestyle is unnatural and against the laws of nature. Immoral is immoral. |
