I got this through Common Cause. Haven't seen it elsewhere.
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has amended several financial disclosure reports to include the employment of his wife, Virginia.
USA TODAY's Joan Biskupic reports that the move by Thomas follows complaints by Common Cause, a liberal advocacy group, that the justice has repeatedly failed to report the job information of his wife, a former GOP congressional aide who has long been active in conservative causes.
Thomas said the information, which is corrected for several years, was "inadvertently omitted." According to seven letters released by the Supreme Court public information office on Monday, Thomas sought to amend reports dating to 1989.
Virginia Thomas, who used to work in Congress for then-House majority leader Dick Armey, helped found the conservative group Liberty Central in fall 2009. Until December, she helped oversee Liberty Central's operations.
Liberty Central, which supports limited government, backed some Tea Party candidates in the 2010 midterm elections.
It was a mere $680,000.
