I feel very fortunate because I have great neighbors on all sides of me. We do not socialize much but we do talk from time to time.

When it snows the first person out cleans the sidewalks at least 2 houses in each direction. The people that live across the alley from me has a 4 wheel drive pick up with a snow blade and he cleans my drive way. He refuses any payment so I drop off a couple of cases of beer for him. All my neighbor's know that they are welcome to use any tool's have and there is a large assortment.

Last Wednesday two neighbors along with my daughter & wife cleaned our sidewalks, drive plus the alley out to the street. They also sent me back in the house saying I had no business out there, they would take care of things and they did.

On my recent trip to the hospital we received 4 phone calls asking if we needed anything and asking how I was. That big Ambulance is very noticeable.

I feel real blessed to have such great neighbors.

I'm with you on this, Kenn.  We are so fortunate to live in Iowa, where anonymous kindness like this happens daily.  How unfortunate it is to think that there are poor souls out there like our own Mallory, who can't see the good, and therefore assumes that nobody has time for anybody.

I used superlatives and shoudn't have so I'll amend it  for the Fox.

A lot of people don't have time to visit their neighbors anymore.   They're all watching TV, playing with their computers or social networking on facebook and the like.  And there are the ubiquitous cell phones.

I'm fine with my neighbors, left and right, front and back.

It's kind'a like Kenn here only not quite so much.

Oh no....stand by your convictions, by all means.  I took you at your word when you said "......WE'RE all watching TV, playing with OUR computers, or social networking...".  You said it.  Stand by it.  Don't just be one more spineless liberal who prefers word games and backtracking to honesty.  Either that, or specify who "they" are.  Most of the people I hang around with aren't spending hours in front of a TV , and couldn't care less about Facebook.  Maybe it's a matter of how you choose your friends, eh?

Or maybe you just "shoudn't" use superlatives.
