Thanks for remaining civil. Shows a lot towards a few still being adults around here.

First, a quote from the story: ''Frederick said he was in bed when he heard someone trying to come into the home''.

This tells me that he was not being chased.

Second quote from the story: Frederick has not been convicted of any felony crimes in Chesapeake''.

This tells me he had a right to own a gun.

Now I feel for the officer and his family. I feel any person that that wears a uniform in any line of public service deserves and should get a unquestioned respect. However, as the story reads, Mr. Frederick did nothing different then all the people screaming insults in my direction have claimed they would do. This is why they all need a gun. To protect themselfs. Now maybe everyone finds it hard to swallow the cold facts that guns indeed do not protect and have to face the very stern reality that innocent people die in efforts to prove otherwise.

You want to honor this officer? Take the guns out of the hands of stupid people.

Peace

as always you are welcome to disagree with any or all the words I write. This in part is what a discussion board is about.

However, when Orville and yourself try to restrict my participation because you simply disagree, I have to take note.

Now, what did I said that has put your underwear in a knot? I related a very sad story about a officer to a cause I feel strongly about. You do not agree? Well that would be a shocker to me........

Lets look over some facts and ask some very basic questions.

I stated my heart went out to the officer and his family. Is this what angered you? Maybe you feel otherwise and want to share why our hearts should not go out to this family? I'll wait......

I stated to honor the officer we should take the guns out of the hands of stupid people. Maybe you could share with us why this insults you?

Peace

Your right, I am trying to remain civil but your argument is making that hard. Your ignoring the story you yourself posted. The officer was a member of a drug enforcement team serving a search warrant on this address. A person at the address that the search warrant was issued for shot through a door and killed an officer of the law doing his job. This officer left behind a wife and three children and more than likely parents and siblings.

Using his loss of life to hope to further your argument and continuing that argument as though there is nothing wrong with thinking it is right is getting me quite angry.
