To claim that the SC justices don't legislate from the bench is not "border line stupidity" it is the epitome of stupidity. Look at the "knee jerk" decision the California Supreme Court recently made concerning gay marriage and rethink what you just posted. The vast majority of Californians are strictly against gay marriage yet the C-SC ruled in favor of it anyway. That my friend is the epitome of stupidity and it is called legislating from the bench.

Holding these thugs as "detainees" or "POW's" or whatever you want to call them has NOTHING to do with our constitution or our laws or the Supreme Court. It has only to do with the Geneva Convention. The last I checked the Supreme Court has no jurisdiction over the Geneva Convention. Nor do our own legislators. Bush is not breaking any law here, he is abiding by the Geneva Convention.

IMC....I would venture to guess that our friend Dave is even more pleased today given the court's ruling that outlaws the execution of child rapists in one of our states.  He will never get it....nor will he even try.

The C-SC made a decision based the laws and our constitution. Based on our laws and our constitution they made a correct call. It is not the job of the SC to rule with the majority, but to rule on legality.

The "detainees" or "POW's" have everything to do with the laws of our land. The SC stated such yesterday.

Mind you the SC did not say to set them free. They stated suspects held at Guantanamo Bay have a right to seek their release. "SUSPECTS" not POW's. Seeking release does not mean freedom. It means they have rights. Rights to representation, a trial, and a chance to read this Geneva Convention you're so proud of. I don't know why you insist in uttering those words, like we ever followed it.

Nigel - I think I've missed your ideology. I've always understood peoples points. You just want me to agree with bad things..... I can't! Understanding isn't agreeing.
