Can anyone show me proposed legislation to take away everyone's guns?  Does anyone really believe that could happen here?

Like I said, some of you guys sure scare easily.  LaughingWink

The path to "taking away everyone's guns" does not start with full blown legislation to do just that.  The path is a step by step approach, and is much more subtle.  The path involves several steps designed to lead and deceive an unwitting populace into their own enslavement.

It goes something like this: first the demonizing of guns, then mandatory registration, next banning and confiscation, and finally total civilian disarmament. Once totally disarmed, the enslavement of the people then follows with limited resistance. This has been the path of Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Red China, Cuba and other totalitarian regimes of the 20th century.

Some might choose to ignore history and suggest that gun registration records will not  be used in the future to confiscate guns. Handgun Control, Inc. is one of the leading advocates of gun registration and gun control. What do they say? The director of Handgun Control, Inc. has stated that mandatory registration is one of the steps towards eventual prohibition of handgun ownership

Unfortunately when presented with the actual history of the steps to oppression that were used by totalitarian regimes, and the resulting enslavement of their populations, naive Americans respond, yes, but that cannot happen here.

In a case study close to home, Cubans lost their guns in 1959. When they lost their guns, they lost their ability to regain freedom. The result, today Cubans are enslaved in totalitarianism, under an oppressive government that promised the dream of a socialist utopia. Instead of the utopian paradise they were promised, they ended up with the nightmare of a police state in a communist island prison.

Those that ignore history are bound to repeat it!

For as long as I've been alive people have been fearing their guns being taken, and to date, nothing.  No slippery slope.  It is sheer silliness to think such would happen here.  We are not Germany, or Cuba, or any such place.   We have no history of guns being taken.

BTW, the second amendment allows for regulation (A well REGULATED milita beinging necessary to a free state . . . .).  Such is not equal to taking away your guns.

Nor is such gun control a new idea:

The editor of the Black Hills Daily Times of Dakota Territory in 1884 called the idea of carrying firearms into the city a "dangerous practice," not only to others, but to the packer himself. He emphasized his point with the headline, "Perforated by His Own Pistol."

The editor of the Montana's Yellowstone Journal acknowledged four years earlier that Americans have "the right to bear arms," but he contended that guns have to be regulated. As for cowboys carrying pistols, a dispatch from Laramie's Northwest Stock Journal in 1884, reported, "We see many cowboys fitting up for the spring and summer work. They all seem to think it absolutely necessary to have a revolver. Of all foolish notions this is the most absurd."

Ahhh...but the operative word there is "well". And that is something liberals don't do. Everyone says they saw the current economic conditions coming. Liberals have been in control nigh-on two years now and did nothing to prevent it.

I'd have to say that with your continuous and repetative retorts on this issue, joey, you actually are demonstrating a form of being scared the liberals are gonna mess all this up. ...which will likely happen.

Nobama is on record to a DC local reporter voicing support of the liberal's Washington D.C. gun ban, and went even farther to say that the gun ban was constitutional (in his opinion).

The Supreme Court struck down that city's ban saying it was UNconstitutional. Anyone who thought that ban was constitutional, is constitutionally flawed, and should not be president. What other opinions will he employ? What happens when he gets "his" Supreme Court? The current Supreme Court didn't think DC's ban was so well-regulated, did they?

Leave it to liberals.

You sure are funny BB.

Yes, the court struck it down.  So why are you worried?  Again, my claim is there is nothing to worry about.  I just find the excessive fear humorous.
