A couple of years ago a guy with a homeless sign was by the mall. I worked by the mall, so I stopped and told the guy that if he came over to where I worked, I would pay him to sweep the parking lot. He never showed up and I could see him from where I worked (it was that close). When I left work, he was still standing there. I chalked him up as a con. and lazy.

Folks, all I know is the experiences that I have had.  I don't know if they even relate, but, in a left handed sort of way, I think that they really do.  To make a VERY long story short, I'll simplify it!  I had lost my job in Arizona in the early 70's.   Had only been there for about 6 months.  Worked for a Corp.  Came back to Muscatine (home town).  Was in a 6 figure income @ 23.  Couldn't find a job in Muscatine (wonder why), Started drawing unemployment for over 6 months.  Got to the point, after about 2 months, that it was EASIER to draw unemployment than it was to work!  AFTER the unemployment ran out (my idea, in a sense of workers welfare), I FINALLY found a job (anybody that would hire me!  Found it in a bar, while sucking off of unemployment insurance.  Retired 2 years ago, after 30+ years.  The story about these people is, a hand UP, NOT a hand out!  DF, maybe these folks were where I was at around 3-4 months into my freeby checks!  I'm not saying that I condone these actions, but, I can certainly understand the situations that can lead to them!  When everyone fully understands that I don't owe you a living, or nor do you owe me a living, then MAYBE we'll ALL be better off!  Are those folks STILL out there?  1-9-09?  Tom Milder.  By the way, since I have this board right this second, my wife, who doesn't post on this board, and one of her relatives who READS this board, (the wife), tells me that I embarress the family about my postings on this board!  IF ANY of you folks would like to comment to that, I would appreciate it!  That is the reason that I sign my name to what I post!  I am not ashamed as to what I write, and, due to that, I am NOT ashamed to sign my name.  Those who use a handle obviously don't believe in what they print, or, they would have signed their name to it.  I have posted this before, and, I'm sorry, but, I still believe in it!  Thank you very much for allowing me to rant!  Tom Milder.................

I'm trying to get the jist of your post. I would much rather work for money, than stand on a street and BEG for it. If you work/have worked and get welfare or unemployment, so what. That is what it is there for. It's the welfare hogs and lazy that I am against.

You DO NOT embarrass your family with your posts. I enjoy some of them. Most likely they are jealous because they don't have the balls to voice their own opinions. A lot of my family don't like my ways because I voice my opinion, while they hide behind their hankerchiefs and poo poo everyone behind their backs.
