Afriend of mine and i were arguing friday night about the role of our government. We were discussing government and buisiness. He said that the rich and buisiness' alike should be taxed to death because they are morally obligated to take care of the poor. He said to me "your poor why would you side with the money hungry republicans" First of all were not poor...we struggle just like a lot of others do. But i personally do NOT expect the government to take from others what they worked for to give to me. I only want what i worked for. The theory that the haves must support the have nots is ridiculous. The liberals have created the illusion that you deserve more than you have, and it should come from the wealthy. Thats wrong, people only deserve what they work for. I realize that people sometimes need a hand, my kids and i went through that a few years ago during my divorce, we lived at the MCSA building for a month til i got things back on track. They charge almost a hundred a week to stay there, so we didnt get a free ride and we didnt ask for one. Our government wasnt set up to play robin hood, and they shouldnt.
If you knew Susie, like I knew susie, oh oh eeek!

"So I take it you believe that Hammurabi was wrong when he wrote "The first duty of government is to protect the powerless against the powerful." Yes?" "Protect" doesn't mean take from the rich. Likewise, the H-man had no idea there would be such a thing as evil demoncrats in power in the future. He wasn't Nostradamus. |
