Just when we thought it was safe to dig out the spring-wear! Here we go again, OH WELL---might as well go back to the cave and snooze another month.
Oh my gosh! I sure hope I have not possessed another mind in that way????? Though I dearly enjoy a long thoughtful explanation and meaningful release of opinions and facts. It isn't easy for me to keep things as pointed and tight as posters like D.Max, Gta, and a few others. Thus I must thank you for the recognition and possible fear of diatribe infection. ---It is certainly a complex topic! One that seems to get folks rialed a bit, especially those who support a lesser obligation for those who have more and the most. I actually liked your assessment better. Good treatment of the issue, and I hope everyone in this nation understand that it IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. Especially those who punch the clock 9 to 5, living paycheck to paycheck, or start the doughnuts at four every morning in his shop, hoping to get a small scratch of the profits the major corporate gangs take. It's a silly notion, but to demand a lesser tax obligation because you have more is ridiculous.
I have an idea..........Lets come up with an "I am rich card" that when presented to any clerk at any merchant, for ANY purchase no matter how small or large, we get a 10% discount. While anyone else who isn't rich, pays the retail price. To think that anyone of a certain height in wealth deserves to pay less income tax is no different. The idea isn't to over tax the wealthy, but to require the same percentage as anyone else like it once was. If you have more to tax, well then by God you pay more. How much depends upon what you earn. The rate will be the same, and fairness will not be an issue, and revenue will go up. Anyone in business already knows and understand that they have that tax as well. It's just that when a huge corporation walks away with huge tax breaks and leaves the country as well, then gets subsidies and more tax breaks to manufacture our toys and clothes, than ship them back to U.S. soil, because it's now foreign trade, gets another break, tossing millions of good paying jobs out the door with those gifts, well folks that's just plain wrong. Obama didn't set up those amazing GIFTS to the wealthiest since 2000, Congress and GW did. And look at how well that SUPER IDEA has worked out for our JOB MARKET, GDP and economic malaise. Our economy didn't fall into this terrible mess because the working folks in this country were leaving their jobs, borrowing too much and soaking the rich, it happened because the rich have closed and moved our factories, packaged up massive loans and sold them as solvent and soaked the rest. While government simply held the door open at the borders and the vaults with new hollow coprorate rules, then went to sleep. What a good job these con-men have been doing the past eight years. There have been five Free Trade Agreements at the tap-root of these problems along with deadly legislation of deregulation and tax cuts, geared to create the greatest amount of wealth for the top 5-10% in the quickest amount of time. Starting with NAFTA. CAFTA, SAFTA, BAFTA, SKAFTA and what ever other AFTA they can dig up. THEN, then have the testes to cry that any change, for the better of our nation, especially now MIND you, is seen as soaking the rich. When one feels they have just cause to think that way, supporting this ludicrous notion, one is either rich, too partisan-blind, or too stupid to see what the hell has been done to our country in the name of capitalistic gain. One major problem is that these greedy louts just don't know when they have enough. We need major change and we need it SOOOOON!
God Bless!
