Good evening All!! Thank you, but not at all. My forte was economics in the day, and taught for over twenty years in Missouri. I do so love to write and did spend a couple years practicing at high school and college in english lit. and creative writing. But all one really need do, is write from the heart with as much metal illustration as one can deliver. It's just that, IN DOING SO, WE CAN GET LONG WINDED AT TIMES. WELL IN MY CASE, It's a given by now. I tell you, this old memory has a couple novels hidden away. I remember writing a short story that won a prize during high school down in Arkansas. My English instructor was thrown for a loop and tried with all her might to get me to take advanced writing with a journalistic goal. She felt my attention to detail and personal mix would make me at least a good writer if not a great one. I chose numbers. Now that I have spilled some of our beans, my Mr. says I should tell the rest of the story. Our meeting, our imminent union and ALL THE Joys, fears, ups and downs we ALL face each and every day. A dirt roads kind of twist. You know, how it was back when? how simple and laid back life was compared to today. though folks dealt with the same kinds of personal issues and what not, we have extra sets of stresses that tend to make life so much more complex. We always feared the "red menace", the diseases of our youths and how to keep life private when it was prudent and not. There are some very good minds within this community and this state as a whole. I was so impressed with how intellectual most Iowans are. We have only lived here for a dozen years now, and feared those famously brutal winters we always heard of. Though we had some good ones down in Mo. and Ark. they were rarely anything we were told about up here. I must say that your summers are simmilar at times but over all, I became aclimated quickly. Anyway, thank you for your kindness and have been waiting eagerly to read others' stories of passion and loves this Valentines Day. I just adore creativity in a mate and suspect that many others have enjoyed similar experiences with their loves as well. I have another---an anniversary memory that has been one to pass along the generations, but have shared plenty for now. I'll let others tell of their's now. God Bless. |

P.S. Istreat, I would love to hear about when you was a child. Like "back in the day". My elders weren't up for talking about their childhood and what little I heard, I still remember and cherish. Tell us some of your childhood days. |
