Enough Already?

TLOU,

You have apparently missed the special local discussions that have ensued during your absences here. There have been quite a few and some quite lengthy.

As for political; everything regarding the national discussions on politics does have a trickle down to us; if not a direct and dramatic effect on us locally. Not quite sure how you make the disconnect there. Anyway, this issue (politics) may be more important to some of us as it might be our opinion that those are real and passionate issues to some, and just maybe a little more important to some than made up stories and jokes. But I do participate in alot of threads, and will almost always post/repsond to political threads.

And I thank ya'. Enjoy.

Hi all,
I appreciate all of your responses! I didn't respond before this because I had a very close family member in the hospital & couldn't take time to check the computer.  I apologize & offer my Thanks to all- (better late than never)?  Embarassed

Wroe - I thank you for your kind words!  You have always had such a sweet heart & a kind soul.  I too miss Frazz & always loved DF's posts.  I'm glad I made you laugh...it gives me hope that MAYBE I have a little bit of my Grandma Irene in me, (I can only pray!)?  I do have to admit something here... (sigh), I can't imagine her or any of her sisters saying, LMFAO...& I did, (Wonder if that means I'm going to the hot place?).  Innocent They WOULD say, ROTFL...(between you & me they are probably petitioning St. Peter to let me in anyway!  (LMFAO anyway!!)!  Wink

Kenn... (I mean- ROCKY!).  You have always given great respect, love, comfort and support to this board.  Yet, you haven't been afraid of reaching out & asking
for prayers & support.  That is a sign of wisdom & strength.  I admire you & hope
that I DO work in the building your daughter works in.  I am friends with- &
truly enjoy, everyone in my building.  We're all friends, and if she's anything like
you, I am blessed.

  Lilsmom
- you have always been the kind, wise compass of the board.  QUOTE- "(Okay, Who are you calling "old"?  TLou--it's so good to see you back!)"  (RESPONSE:  Who am I calling "old")?  Undecided ROTFL!  Anyone as wise as you HAS to be LIKE - 40? Ask my grandkids how "OLD" that is!  (My husband & I hear it everyday!).  (The little scampers-  wanna buy them @ my yard sale?)  Foot in mouth  I'm glad I'm back too, Lilsmom. :)

Nedl- You make me laugh & think!  Don't stop!  If I ever get the chance to meet you- I'm gonna hug you SO TIGHT - that you'll be able to get rid of that daggone blow-up Judy!  (She's beneath  you anyway, Nedl; YOU DESERVE BETTER)!
If OPIE ever comes back, I don't know how the heck we'll get his hands to quit typing! (That man has a mind like a steel trap... a mind that; well between you & me)? (SHH, don't tell anyone this)?  A mind that NO MAN/WOMAN SHOULD ever go!  They based the "Twilight Zone" on Opie's brain.  Yep! It's true,,
I read it in the Enquirer"!

BB-  Thank you for re-posting LJ'S post about great Muscatine memories!  A lot of them made me cry.  You said,  ("As for political; everything regarding the national discussions on politics does have a trickle down to us; if not a direct and dramatic effect on us locally. Not quite sure how you make the disconnect there").  YOU are right!  There is a disconnect for many of us.  We feel powerless @ a national level.  But don't stop!  BB- you have called me out on some of my opinions & made me think!  We need someone like that on this board!  My complaint
was that the "nationally political discussions" were taking over this board & mostly against Obama & his supporters.  GUESS WHAT?
Whether any of us agree or disagree with him in office, it is what is it is- for the next 4 years.  Disagreement between parties will NOT help out our country.
Open minds- Open hearts- a love of our country & the willingness to come together as one is what will be what helps us to move on from this situation.  Won't it?  We need to listen nationally & be willing to give our opinions.  My concern, at least on this board, is this.  HOW do we keep our town the safe, beautiful town it is?  I, for one, CHOOSE to fight the drugs & gangs in our town! There are other issues, but this one is close to my heart.  Back in the early 1990's, my family was terrorized by the gangs that had hold of this town. Thankfully, we had a drug/gang task force that helped us to stay strong.  It was dangerous & we had to have places for our children to go for safety.  It worked; but it makes a mark.  I'll stand up nationally- BB - but I REFUSE to allow our safe little town be taken over.  You are a thinker, BB- don't EVER stop sharing your opinion!  Can we hear your views about the local issues?  I, for one, REALLY want to hear what you think!

LJ -    You are the heart of the board.  Don't stop.  You have been so loving & kind, explaining the world, & this board to me when I didn't get it.  You have this gift of knowing when someone is @ a spiritual low; and you are willing to help- even though you have challenges of your own.  I am so proud & thankful to have a friend like you.  I guarantee that there are many others on this board that feel the same way.  "Lionjack = St. Michael".  Keep contributing - Thank you for your guidance & wisdom.

OMG -    WROE!  DID YOU HEAR THAT?    I think I heard Grandma Irene YELL   From the bottom of her angel butt...  LMFAO!  (DF & NEDL are conspiring together to have a kick-a** response to this post!)  OMG!  It must be an evil plan!  Be nice- you 2?

Gee, I'm touched. (Wipes tear from eye). It's been so long since anyone wanted to hug me, I can't remember. I think JFK was president then. Can't remember who the gal was. Maybe it was my very first Judy Juggs. No, not my very first. My very first Judy Juggs I made myself. Made her out of inner tubes, two beach balls and an old Halloween mask of wonder woman glued to a basketball "head".

Anyway, thanks for the warm fuzzy. I needed that. In these uncertain times, we all need one every so often. I hope to see you post more. Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

Thank you very much for the kind words because they are appreciated.

Life the last couple of years have been like a dirt road if you know what I mean, especially when it rains.

Fishing has been good this summer and my family has been absolutely the greatest. My son loaned me his ATV to ride to the farm ponds to fish and that has been a real help because my legs were complaining a lot.

I hope everyone else is having a great summer also.
