We have heard the rumors of the company selling for as many years that my husband has worked there and that has been over 35 years now. Maybe they are true and maybe not. None of us know what is in the mind of the owner. I also admit that there are workers in the union or even salaried positions in the plant that do not do the work they should and I can see the company wanting to get rid of people like that. But there are a lot of very skilled workers and it is a shame that they are being treated this way.
As for the union leaders. I have been upset with them from day one also. Many people have been. But that is who represents us and that is sad also. As far as we know charges have been filed with the NLRB, but the union leaders do not always keep us up on what is actually going on with that sort of stuff. This is a sad situation all around. The company gets on the news and says they want the union back and they do care, but the way they have been negotiating does not show that. Anyone who knows what has been going on for almost a year now, knows that both sides are at fault in this and I wished they could just set some feelings aside and decide what is best for everyone.
