  What is going on here?  I'm still figuring out chatterbox...guess I need to go there!  I don't have tons of time to check out the boards, but every time I come here, it's Politics...crappy  NATIONAL politics!  C'mon!  I can turn on any dang channel & hear what people think about what you all complain about, NATIONALLY!  You all might make a difference in the long run...but let's talk about the short run!

  This board used to be fun- people talked about the news here in town & How we could make a difference, HERE, IN OUR OWN TOWN!   

   E-mail or call your favorite Gosh Darn politician, for crying out loud.  Bitching here makes no difference! Have you all noticed that it is the same people posting, all the time?  I mean no offense to the posters, but don't you even pay attention to what is happening in our own town? 

  Who do you think should be our mayor & why?  What should our city council decide to do about the graffitti & gang problem?  (I personally think that every one of them needs to be kicked in the ass & I am more than willing to go out on my own free time to cover any graffitti they do!)   How about the gang task force they are trying to create?   What do you all think about the new Ag center?  How do you feel about the schools & administration that your children or grandchildren go to?

  How do you feel that our children are treated in the welfare system, locally?  What do you think of local businesses?  How do you feel & what do you think about what is reported in our local newspaper.  For instance, how do you feel about that man that stabbed his mate with a fork in the neck?  What about the woman that abused her step-daughter? How do you feel about Loebesack coming to talk about health reform...etc., etc.  How did your child's first day of school go?  Fun, interesting...Scary?   

  This board is "Muscatine Discussions", not USA discussions.  What do you feel about what happens locally & what can we do to make a difference here?

tlou, I agree with you completely.  Every morning, before I go to work, I get on here and check out this site and the chatterbox.  You'll find that it's the same people on both sites, the names have just been changed.  If you go on a daily basis, you'll also find that one site is as dead as the other.  It's too bad that people can't talk about local stuff, and when they do, it's always badmouthing.  We have a lot of negative people here on this site.  Have a great day.......Shackman.

Isn't it funny, Tom, that since Davieboy was banned from here and his melonbitchsite failed over there, that there are no "badmouthing" personal posts anymore? Not even at chatterbox.

"Badmouthing"? You mean all posts must be positive posts and there can be no dissent? Interesting world you want to live in....alot of negative people? Let's see now....we all have seen your negative posts about you raising kids; and you raising their kids; and you working more than one job in your life because you had to; and you working now because you need the insurance, etc, etc, etc.

When are you going to post something positive? Even your post on this subject is negative. Pot calling the kettle black, I guess?

I agree but I think people are out enjoying whatever hot, wet, buggy weather we have left before the really nice seasons begin. Lol.

I see we are getting some new sidewalks on Cedar Street. This sidewalk rocket pilot thanks the responsible parties for them. Lots more left that need attention though.

I admit, I've been spending too much time on a forum that seems to be Great Britian based.  Lots of English, Scots, Irish, Canadians and Americans. Great fun until the America bashing starts. And it always does.
