Oh Shackman, this is weak.   You might want to Google The Center for Disease Control to see how much the governments hand is in this.  Their predictions, as well as their lack of ability to deliver, are woefully inept.  I believe that Nigel makes a very valid point.  If they screw this up so badly so soon, what's in store when the government dips it's hand into health care?

Ok, I guess that I have several questions for you.  #1 do you believe that our healthcare systems is in shambles?  Who do you think is responsible for this?  Would you believe that it is the Insurance Companies, trying to make a gazillion dollars off of you and me?  Do you think that it's the Hospitals, trying to make a gazillion dollars off of you and me?  Do you think that it's the "Specialists" who make more in an hour than we make in a week?  Or, do you think that it's all about the government, and, it's all their fault?  And, if so, how long (how many generations) has this been going on?  If not through Health Care Reform, then, How do we fix it?  Of course, that's supposing that there is a problem with the "system".  I'm just trying to get educated, because, in the 44 years that I have been voting, I have only twice seen it come up in disscussion.  Please enlighten any of us who would care to be.................Shackman

Gosh Tom, that's a lot of questions.  No, I don't believe our health care system is in shambles.  Best in the world.  People actually come here for it form all over the globe.  I'm insured, because I planned ahead.  Simple.  Are people making money?  You bet.  Are there problems?  Sure.  Do we fix the problems by turning loose a bloated, paper-pushing bunch of politicians loose?  Don't think so.

The bottom line is also simple.  Has there ever been a government program that's come in at or below budget and has worked?

If you have only heard reference to this subject twice in 44 years, I'd suggest you haven't been paying very good attention.  You have simply bought into the old tired "We're the government and we can fix anything" line of reasoning.

Tom...don't you find it strange that the government has shouted the swine flu alarm for a couple of years, has convinced us that it's a national emergency, and still can't produce?  Can you go somewhere in town today and get an H1N1 vaccine, or will it be available only after the flu season is nearly over?  Doesn't it appear that our Democratic friends want you to feel like the government is the only entity to handle this dire catastrophe?

Everyone from the President down has screwed up on this one, and he wants us to give him the reins for the rest of our health care.  I don't think this can happen.
