I understand and respect your opinions but it brings questions to my mind. Most people should have known that Medicare & Social Security were in trouble ten years ago but who tried to do anything about it ? Would it have anything to do with the political contributions ?
People have no problem paying taxes that go for food stamps, housing assists programs, and medical treatment that are all government programs.
I realize the cost of health care has jumped a lot because of new technology and overcharges. Again this did not start yesterday and who is trying to do anything about it. I also have yet to see anyone refusing treatment when it is life threatening. I do not have the answers or I would be trying to get something done about it but I am smart enough to know it needs repair now. In my opinion the health care bill is a long ways from becoming law but I believe it is time for our elected Representatives to start doing the job that they were elected to do.

KENN-Oct 20, 2009: "As for the political side I never have been involved in it except rarely when I see something that strikes me as strange or untrue. I prefer to use my time doing something constructive or enjoyable. I find that politics does not fit that criteria." What? Except when it fits YOUR criteria?
Have to call you on your words above, KENN! : "People have no problem paying taxes that go for food stamps, housing assists programs, and medical treatment that are all government programs."
That is inherently untrue in an umbrella statement such as that; and, likewise, you do not speak for me or the throngs of people against the monster you identify, as somehow acceptable.
Sorry; but now, even you are being disingenuous. |

I did not say or attempt to speak for you and I presume that you pay taxes so what is your problem ? In the last 7 years I have never heard you complain about paying for any of those things.
Maybe your umbrella covers all speech, mine does not.
