My goodness.....your entire premise is based on an assumption that I am not involved locally.  My response to the original post merely pointed out that we have a choice whether or not to respond to topics of discussion here, and that national issues have an effect on us.

Why would you assume such things?  You "assume" that I don't pay attention to what is happening locally, that I don't get angry when I see our town slowly slide downhill, that I don't support downtown development, and that I haven't spent the better part of a lifetime making this town safer and more productive for our kids?  You assume that I do nothing but sit at my computer and voice an occasional opinion on a national issue.  Do not fool yourself into believing these things, as you have no idea what I have done in the past 40 years to contribute to the betterment of this community.

The fact that your whole rant is based on such flawed assumptions makes it amusingly ignorable.  But again, you have that wonderful right to post here what you wish.  And I have the right to ignore it, or consider it, or comment on it.  If you truly believe that you have no voice, then that is a whole different problem.

So TLou, what is the local issue of importance that you wish to discuss?  Or is this merely another try at telling everybody here what we can or cannot comment on?

Also....I would wager that Nigel has done more for the long term benefit of this community than most here, including you.

or how about this new jail that our city council is hell bent on building, so they bring in dangerous federal prisoners.....couldnt that 8 or 9 million its gonna cost be better spent helping downtown buisiness' like Jeff.......

The new jail will probably be filled w/ folks who can't/won't buy the public option insurance. Fines on the victims of graffiti is ludicrous! Our society has decided it would be good to blame the victim. Stand up for your rights people! Use your power at the voting booth.
