Hi
Highroad! You are right. People should do some research before donating to most causes. There are reports already, that some are trying to make a buck off this tragic disaster. I understand too that Haiti is a crime ridden, poverty stricken, politically crooked place with bizarrereligious beliefs. But there has to be people suffering there that deserve help. Right here we have places that we fear to go and would give a wide birth, nothing like places of third world status of course. I don't know what Pat Robertson said about this, but being he's a Christian leader here at home, I'm sure he understands that and will help in what ever way he can. We go Saturday to give blood, but don't have much else to offer in this terrible economy. I'm sure most are feeling that crush too, so even a little these days isn't easy. But even a dollar? Understanding that even with the Red Cross we fear our donations don't get to their intended purpose. It's just so sad though. Our daughter and I tear up every time we see those starved, mistreated pet, commercials. You know the one where Sarah McLaughlin is singing, In the arms of an angel. This is worse. But it's understandable, knowing what futility is rampant there.
Lucy.
