Hi allSmile

I read this interesting take on an obviously liberal Blog in a reply to Bush haters last night. Thought I'd share it's unique take and see whatch yall think? If you take any of this to heart::: then like me::: those who thought Bush was a moron might want to rethink it. In light of that, I have decided that George W Bush is not so much the insipid moron I have always been told he is and have felt to be true. He may eat boogers? I cannot prove that either way::: but If you ever gulped a loogy? well that's it then. But:::after having said that, I might now have faith in his actual intelligence, is this any evidence?

"We have not heard a word from the man, unlike Dick Cheney, in more than a year. That indeed speaks to his "smarter than most thought" suspicions. I have had to do a little more looking at the "man." Not so much the president. Later for that. Oh sure, there were average test scores, the many failed businesses, the drinking, cocaine use, womanizing, AWOL claims, jealousy among bros. disapproval by the father, hell, the list goes on.

After looking a little deeper, it begins to occur to one-that he was really a smart guy. How could a man suffer so much in challenges then persevere to become the president of the United States? Not once but twice? Now I thought, If he was a smart enough guy to beat all these odds, in spite of his "disapproving" father being our leader and in one office, or another for three terms, with the knowledge that- "Dad" wanted brother to be governor and or president? Then managed to get there, that's a pretty smart guy. While there, Convince the world on one level or another to opt for an all out war that finally proved to be one lie after another. Killing or indirectly killing onwards to 2 Million people in the name of 911, then yellow cake, then WMDs, and finally the real purpose? For targeting and gasing 5000 of his own countrymen. All at a cost to we the tax payers to the tune of $900,000,000,000.00, Yes -900 Billion dollars- and counting.

After signing a2.1 Billion dollar bait and switch tactic to fund hydrogen fuel, thereby killing electrics, while the oil companies bought all the true alternative technologies. Then, convinceing congress that we needed to deregulate our banking systems and slash taxes to better facilitate corporate profit margins in the thousands of percentages. By closing factories all across the country sending those millions of jobs over seas, and south of the border. That then, caused the loss of roughly 15 Million jobs and counting. Then bailed out bankers and brokers "TOO BIG TO FAIL" to the tune of 852 Billion dollars, with no out of pocket(oversight). Hand the whole glorious, pride-filled eight years to the next gaggle of supermen and superwomenn, and watch  from the safety of a well designed obscurity, perhaps snickering like a prankster schoolboy. While his second in command, (thou protest too much Dick Cheney) fights the good fight on the behalf of the most ingenious dismantling of America. As it commences unstoppable, in the hands of the hapless Democrats. So, that in November. 2010 the Republicans can look like the real heroes and then again in 2012 but likely to no avail. All the while- he and his- were responsible. This of course depends on the weakness in memories of the electorate. One hundred percent, proof that George Walker Bush is not just SMART, but one damn strong GENIUS."

Now I realize this could have easily been my thoughts, and I'd love to take credit for it, but alas, I cannot. Plus:::I still feel he's not that smart. I still think the smartest ones were cheney and rove. The only real intelligence W displayed was in letting them run things in spit of his declaration of being the decider. Of course had I written it, there would have been a lot more to whine about. Sorry::: it's still about the ethics and integrity and crimes of our leaders to me. i'm sure Obama will have his too.

Lucy.

Bird.....:  Do you ever check out any of this stuff you find and post?

Bush signed a bill in 2003 that allowed the spending of 1.2 billion over 5 years on hydrogen fuel research.  Not 2.1 billion.  The 2.1 billion number was what the European Commission targeted to spend on hydrogen fuel research.

The "deregulation of banks" began in the 1970's and continued (interest rates, branches control, etc.) up into the 1990's.  By the way, the bill that got rid of the Glass-Steagall act was signed into law by Bill Clinton. The deregulation you are probably referring to (allowing banks to determine their own net capitol) occured in 2003-2004 during Bush's presidency...but was promulgated by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Not by Bush.  The SEC was established and is overseen by Congress, not the president.

Bush did not close any factories.  The closest thing to that would be the NAFTA, maybe, signed into law also by Bill Clinton.

The idea that "Bush lied" about the Iraq war has been proven false by several official investigative commissions.  If it was true, he would have been impeached by now.

Can you come up with anything specific that Bush did whereby he actually deserves all the hate directed at him by the mass media and the lemings that follow same?

Also, the idea that Bush is stupid/dumb really doesn't hold water.   Here's a link to a rather extensive 2004 article exploring some testing scores for Kerry, Bush, and Gore.

http://www.vdare.com/sailer/kerry_iq_lower.htm

The general conclusion is that it is likely that Bush ranks somewhere between Kerry (lower than Bush) and Gore (higher than Bush) in intelligence.   With Kerry almost exactly dead center in the population by any measure.   Even though he convinced the media that he was an intellectual.   This article is quite long so be prepared.  Also, it's somewhat interpolative, but that's all we've got so far.   You can find several non bogus treatments for Bush's intelligence on the internet.  Just be careful there are a few famous bogus reports also.

In my research, I found surprisingly that John Kennedy, believe it or not, ranked rather low in intelligence.
