Muscatine

I see Muscatine Books and More is going out of business also.  Pretty soon Muscatine will only have Walmart and fast food joints.  And those of us who don't shop at Walmart will all be traveling to Nichols, Wapello, Blue Grass and Buffalo to do our shopping.  Tina and I used to go every Sat morn to Country Kitchen for breakfast before we opened the store,  But it got so we didn't go anymore, as it was going downhill. They needed a complete menu overhaul.  It its sad though, Muscatine can't keep any businesses.

So very true opie, it is a shame....but the BOS is more interested in building a jail to house federal prisoners that no one wants, instead of trying to revive downtown....

It is not the BOS job to revitalize the downtown. That would be the City Council. Two very different groups. What I dont get is that even the merchants ion the downtown dont seem to get along very well. They dont seem to want to work together to make it any better. They all want to whine and complain, but no one person has ever emerged as a true leader. The lack of leadership seems to be a theme these days dosent it?
