Tlou...if I may.  Over the years, most of the topics of discussion that I have started here have had to do with local issues, especially the school system and local merchants.  They have been, for the most part, well received and gotten responses.  I would remind you that this forum is for its users, and as such is open to you or anyone else to participate or to ignore.  I don't think you can expect us to follow the "Tlou" rules of "no politics or religion", especially in a time when the actions of our elected leaders have so many of us angry and disillusioned.  Anyone who "moves away" does so under their own power.

As for the out of towners, you might want to check out some of the other "Hood sites.  We don't look nearly so bad when compared with them.  Funny....they talk about politics and religion too.

On another forum I visit, much more often than this one I must admit, the number of "hits" is recorded. Awhile back that forum seemed to be dying from lack of responses, yet the number of hits each thread recieved was often over 100. Another poster and myself, brought this up. The forum came alive with responses to threads after that.

I think the same thing is happening here. Readers skim over the threads without taking the time to respond or start new threads. Opie gets an "A" for effort for trying.

So, all I can suggest is to get off your dead butts and start new threads and respond.

Okay, I'll admit it, i stop in here and skim through the posts almost daily.  I just don't have any interest in participating in a discussion about politics.  The problem is, I just can't think of anything to start a new thread about.  I thought about starting one yesterday just so I could complain about the guy at the grocery store that was perfectly content to let his 3 little boys run around like maniacs screaming at the top of their lungs, but honestly, who would want to reply to someone aimlessly complaining??  Maybe this is the problem.  The people who don't want to talk about politics can't think of anything better to post.
