Am I missing something?

Miss Iowa, you have brought up a subject that is very important to me.  I have been planning and am in the process of sending a letter to President Obama on the immigration issue.  I agree with you completely.  I also know that when he receives my letter there will be an investigation into my background and I could care less.  If you or anyone else would like to send me your comments on immigration, I will add them to my own but will not identify anyone by name.  I intend to be blunt and to the point.

I lived in New Mexico for 27 years and I am acquainted with many Mexican or Spanish families and most are good people but they came here legally.  One Mexican gentleman in Texas invited anyone to call him and talk about the issue.  He said it was not right for immigrants to enter this country illegally and be given amnesty.

They needed to follow the same process he and others followed without any form of amnesty.  Living in this country without following the path to citizenship is breaking the law and cannot be tolerated.

As I said, my letter will be blunt and to the point.  If anyone wants to join me, I welcome you.

Lion Jack, thank you very much for your effort on this matter.  I am sure we all  appreciate you and others who make an effort.  I am afraid though, the our administration has received thousands and thousands of letters on this issue and the real problem is simple.  THEY DON'T LISTEN NOR DO THEY CARE!  If they did, something would have been done long ago.

It is not only this administration, but some that came before this administration have also done nothing.  I frankly just don't get it.  Our country is crumbling right before their eyes and they do nothing about it. I find it hard to believe they would sacrifice this wonderful country for votes, but maybe that is the case.

Closing the borders is also a first gigantic step in controlling our massive drug problem.  They know that and do nothing.  I just don't understand.

I am not blaming the immigrants for all of the problems this country is facing, but they are a major contributor to them.

MissIowa - Thank you for your insight into the issue of immigration. Unlike you and others I do believe it's one of the major problems facing America today. However a issue it is...

I think our current President has answered not only your call, but the call of many Americans. Deportations of illegals are at record rates. When it's all said and done President Obama will go down in history for sending more illegals back to their home land then any President before him. I look at that as at least hearing the call.

As for Arizona.... At the very least their law left room for bad things to happen. We can not escalate the problem, but seek peaceful answers. Bringing in the buses and just loading up all the Hispanics is not a solution anyone of merit thinks is right.

Now I look at the problem as being one that should be handled by fines given to the businesses that hire illegals. Big fines. Huge fines. Fines that would that would force every business to think twice before putting to work a illegal before a citizen. That's JMO.

True Patriot, I hope you are correct in your assertion of  our current president.  Could you please disclose your source for this information.  Not doubting, I just wonder why this information is not widely known.
