Beck Crowd

Posted in: Muscatine
It would appear that YOU are the one with a Beck Crowd fear. My gawd girl, do you have eyes? Are you so full of koolaid that you need to discount every thing that any person connected to anything conservative either says or does?
Mostly just the lies.   But there's also their vision of the future of America.   And their misinterpretation of the past.
You do realize that Beck's event was not political don't you?
Beck's reason for being is political.

So why should it matter if he had thirty million there?
It didn't matter.    But I suspected that the half million count by some conservative writers was inflated.   Hence I asked if anybody had a reliable count.   Nobody produced one.   I found one.
The tv cameras were doing a very good job of covering the crowd and let me tell you girl, there was a HUGE crowd. So get over it already.

I don't think anybody should claim they could get an accuate count from the TV coverage.

HUGE if you consider 87,000 huge.   I have no fear of that number.   You and the gang seem to have trouble accepting it.

So what specific lies are you talking about?  How, specifically, did they "misinterpret" history.  Did you count the crowd?  Do all of these things come from the same "reliable" source.

Your irrational thought process is doing our side no good.

"I don't think anybody should claim they could get an accurate count from the TV coverage."

What does it matter what the exact count was? If pictures that the news media - from a lot of different networks - didn't show you that there was one hek of a lot of persons who had a desire to Restore Honor to themselves and their country I think you may have a big problem.

"You and the gang seem to have trouble accepting it." referring to the number at the event

Go back to the beginning of this post - who asked about an "accurate count"? It would appear that you are the one with trouble accepting the number offered and trying to discount that number - why? If you claim that it was a small number it would discredit the message?

"Beck's reason for being is political." I think if you would ask Glenn what his reason for being is I think his answer would be to glorify God. He attributes his life today as a result of seeking God's help to make his life whole.

So what specific lies are you talking about?
I had nothing specific in mind.   They're too numerous to count.   The grossly inflated crowd size would qualify for one.

How, specifically, did they "misinterpret" history.
One example is we are continually told about how our government and constitution were based on the Chrisrian religion.   This despite the constitution specifically saying the government and religion must be separate and also that "...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification for any office or pulic trust under the United States"..
Did you count the
crowd?
No.
Do all of these things come from the same "reliable" source.
No.

I didn't realize we were on the same side.   When did you join me?

It's very obvious, if you have studied our history, that the founding fathers were fearful of any centralized governmental support of any particular denomination of religion.  This clearly stemmed from the bad experiences they had with they

English crown's adoption of laws promulgating the Church of England.  There was no fear of general Christian moral principles.  As a matter of fact those principles where often cited as necessary basis for self government by the founders.

Here's something more you can peruse at your leisure.   The part dealing with the time period after the revolution pretty much counters your assertions (takes about 8 minutes - but doubt you'll sit through it):
