Mal: Why do you continue to humiliate yourself?
What's to be humiliated about? I presented a bunch of facts which demonstrate that Rasmussen polls are more favorable to the conservatives than other polls (at least in seven out of the seven cases I checked).
These poll takers, you mention, poll different populations!!! Rasmussen asks "likely voters". Some ask "registered voters" (including unlikely voters). Some ask everyone. Some even include non citizens. You are comparing apples and oranges.
I'm comparing Rasmussen to other pollsters. Sure they ask different populations. It's just that Rasmussen seems to select a population which gives the appearance that the conservative candidate or position is more favorable than what other pollsters find. I would hate to think they might just fudge the numbers and I'm not accusing them of this.
In addition, it doesn't matter the amount of difference between Ramussen and the others, or how that difference "leans". The only thing thing that matters is how good are they in predicting outcomes.
No, it does matter. In a lot of, if not most, cases they're not prdicting outcomes but giving opinions of trends or what is happening at a particular momoent. If they report that consistantly wrong and biased, they're giving people false informatioin. Some would call that lying.
And in that, they are tops.
I have no way to know this and I doubt you do either.
What you are advocating is you want a messenger that will tell you what you want to hear, regardless of the true conditions.
You've got it wrong. I want a messenger who will tell me the truth regardless of what I want to hear.
